My planning for social commentary is to put the spotlight on fossil fuel usage. To accomplish this I plan to draw a dinosaur skeleton wearing a gas pump attendant hat and holding a gas pump nozzle. My reasoning behind this is we don't really think twice about where these resources come from and how they are NOT renewable but yet we still use these resources everyday without thinking of the possible consequences. Reference Images: In using these reference images I developed a rough sketch of what I wanted the final piece to look like and after I rendered a sketch of what I wanted the piece to look like I started to construct the final piece and started by laying out where I wanted all of the elements and then sketched the skeleton and gas pump setting. After this stage of the final piece was reached I decided to go back and add more details to the logos on the gas pump and hat. I also decided to finish the marker outlining on the skeleton and add more detail into the asphalt. Overall I was mostly happy with the final piece. This is because even though I had a shorter amount of tie to complete this piece I still feel that I was able to finish my portfolio with a solid piece and did not rush myself as much as I thought I would. The two artistic behaviors that I used in this piece were Problem solving and mediums. This is because I ran into a stop in the process of making this piece when trying to figure out how to make the skeleton "pop out" to solve this problem I asked for help from piers and determined to use markers to overcome this problem. I used many mediums in this piece that included Graphite, Acrylic Paint, Watercolor Paint, and Artist Markers.
